More questions that MUST be answered
Adobe London Poker Tournament. Part of the registration page allows you to ask any questions you want answered, that the site doesn’t make clear, and some of you have asked questions, so I want to share them (and the answers) with the Poker playing Adobe community, as you might all find them useful. No commentsFINAL UPDATE: Adobe London Poker Tournament
So we’re a day away from the Adobe sponsored London Poker Tournament. Originally there were going to be only 50 places available for the inaugural event, however, demand has been so high that I have had to extend this to 100 and there are still lots of people on the stand-by list. A few people have already dropped out and some of you who were on the stand-by list are now coming to the event. If you are still on the stand-by list, don’t worry, it is still possible that some people will drop out and you will be contacted. If not, then the next event will be changed to allow for the increased numbers. All of those who have registered will be contacted as soon as the next event is open for registration.
I would ask everyone who has registered for this event to go to the site and read through the ‘INFORMATION’ section again. There are some VERY important points in there, that you must know before you attend.
We will be closing registration tonight.
Let battle commence
IMPORTANT - Adobe London Poker Tournament
I’ve discovered a couple of things about people’s understanding of the event and I REALLY need to address these.
1. The event is FREE. Entirely! No entry fee, no casino fee. Adobe are paying for the food and drink! Adobe are supplying all the prizes! FREE! Get it?
2. The event is NOT ONLINE! This is a live, turn up, be there kind of event in Edgware Road in London England. If you can’t turn up and be there in person, please email me and let me know so I can make those places available to local people on the stand-by list.
No commentsAdobe London Poker Tournament - Prizes page up
Ok, I know this is what lots of you actually wanted to see. The Prizes page is now on the site. I meant to have this live by last Friday but until they give me 34 hours in a day I will be running behind.
Just a reminder. If you are having trouble with the Registration confirmation popup freezing (If you don’t see “Registering…” with the dots animating), then please let me know by email (sean@flashcoder.net) and send me your mandatory details until it’s fixed, or refresh the site and try again.
No commentsQuestions that MUST be answered
So lots of people have been registering for the Adobe London Poker Tournament in the first day. In fact, so many that we’ve had to make provision for more places in the Casino, so all those who were on the stand-by list are now able to play and we still have some places available at the moment. But I digress. Part of the registration page allows you to ask any questions you want answered, that the site doesn’t make clear, and some of you have asked questions, so I want to share them (and the answers) with the Poker playing Adobe community, as you might all find them useful. No commentsPoker Tournament Registration issue
Apparently a number of you are having intermittent problems registering. A fatal flaw in a registration site if ever there was one :`
The registration popup appears but freezes (apparently. I haven’t managed to replicate it, so I’m guessing it’s an issue with DB communication) and you never get confirmation. It can take a while sometimes, but there are 3 dots in the “REGISTERING…” popup title and these should animate out and back. If they stop, then there’s a problem. There are two ways round this till I find out what’s causing it.
1. Refresh the page and resubmit. Apparently it tends to confirm your registration the second time.
2. Email me (sean@flashcoder.net) your mandatory field details and I’ll add you.

The Adobe sponsored London Poker Tournament is now open for registration.
In case you’ve forgotten already, the Adobe sponsored London Poker Tournament is kicking off on November 1st (under 3 weeks away now). The event is now officially open for registration. The site is a little delicate if you beat it as I had to put it together very quickly (I seem not to have much time recently, with moving house, writing a book for FoE, organising the tournament and sundries, running a Flash department and having a baby. Well, alright, technically the wife is doing that last one, but believe me, we’re sharing the suffering, uh, I mean the joy. Yes the joy). So, I will make it more bullet proof shortly. I also need to add the ‘Prizes’ and ‘FAQ’ section, but the really important ones are there and I’d ask that you go through the ‘Information’ section before you register as this contains some critical information and it also gives you a brief itinerary of the evening.
